Relax Stretch Breathe

Relax Stretch Breathe (RSB) classes take place weekly in Raheny on Wednesday evenings.  These sessions are €15 per session if paying each night or €50 for a 4-class pass to be used over 6-8 weeks. These sessions differ from traditional antenatal yoga in that we have a theme each night that we discuss and that theme is worked into the exercises, poses and relaxations. There is also time to network before going home and it’s great to get to know people in the area before your maternity leave starts.

Here's more info:
Relax, Stretch, Breathe classes for pregnancy - A fusion of gentle yoga-based exercises combined with antenatal preparation suitable from 14 weeks pregnancy right up to birth whilst creating a network  of friends.
Our weekly Relax, Stretch & Breathe Classes (RSB) give mothers, whether they're expecting their first or fourth baby, an opportunity to get together with other pregnant women and spend time relaxing. Research has shown that gentle yoga-like exercises and relaxation can lead to more straightforward births, more full-term and healthy-weight babies by reducing cortisol (stress hormone) levels. Keeping stress down in the last trimester has been shown to be particularly beneficial.

Each week, we do an hour of gentle yoga-based exercises and stretches specially tailored for pregnant women to prepare them for birth. This very popular format also focuses on breathing techniques, positions for labour and a nice long relaxation. The aim for these classes is for you to have an enjoyable and relaxing time, whilst improving your physical and emotional well-being and increasing your chances of a positive birth experience.

For those who are already mothers, the class is a time to relax, concentrate on your new baby and think about your wishes for this birth. For first-time mothers, there will be lots of practical tips and opportunities to meet others and ask questions. Different topics are covered each week.

Your instructor is also a qualified, experienced Antenatal Educator with Cuidiú and so you get the benefit of all that experience and information. Throughout the course breathing, exercise, relaxation for labour are paramount but we also cover life with a new baby, optimal foetal positioning, protecting your perineum and many other issues. Light refreshments are provided and there’s time for a chat.
